Azure Virtual Machines

With Azure Virtual Machines, you can create VMs on-demand. In IaaS mode (Infrastructure as a Service), you do need to maintain the virtual machine.

Remember that :
  • It's only "Generation 1" of virtual machine. Not exactly the same as Generation 1 on Hyper-V. Azure don't support Generation 2.
  • Azure don't provide console access to virtual machine

About disks :
      • Only support vhd format. Vhdx is not supported.
      • When you create a VM, the C drive has a maximum capacity of 127 Gb
      • Three copies of this disk are created in the Azure Datacenter. If you chose Geo-replication, your disk is also replicated in the other Datacenter. For example : Dublin and Amsterdam
      • About vhd : Only fixed disks
